records management and collecting policies The holdings relate to the development and settlement of the Japanese Canadian community in Canada, predominantly including Japanese Canadians living in the Lower Mainland up until the time of their internment during World War II, and shifting to their resettlement in the interior of B.C. and Alberta. The more recent holdings of the Archives include the growth and development of Japanese Canadian organizations and institutions primarily in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area. Holdings include: extensive photograph collection, manuscript collection (letters, diaries, minutes, etc.), extensive oral history collection, clipping files, a reference library, and miscellaneous archival materials.
