History
The Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail Association was formed to create the first official heritage trail in B.C. The name was later changed to the Alexander Mackenzie Voyageur Route Association. The trail is now called the Nuxalk-Carrier Grease Trail in B.C., and it is a part of the route across Canada followed by A. Mackenzie in 1789-1793. The association was instrumental in having the route proclaimed by each province and the federal government.
