Arthur Young was born Oct. 23, 1923. He was a longtime resident of Esquimalt, B.C., where he received his education. He and two brothers operated the Esquimalt Meat Market, which was established by their father in 1912. Arthur Young served Esquimalt as alderman (1968-1970) and mayor (1970-1980).
