Biographical history
Joe Wilson, in partnership with G. Lewis, operated the Lewis Mine (Wellington-Extension No. 8) from 1945-1953. Wilson may have also been the Mine Manager at Canadian Collieries' Bright Mine (1950-1953). Both mines were located south of Nanaimo near the Nanaimo River.
Custodial history
Scope and content
Fonds consists of one volume that lists daily tonnage totals, amount of coal and rock per ton, number of miners, timbering and other statistics related to the extraction of coal. Volume also includes total annual tonnages for 1952 and 1953. Annual tonnage totals are comparable to the totals given in the Minister of Mines Annual Reports for 1952 and 1953 and confirm the volume's provenance.
