Administrative history

Cadboro Bay United Church was established in the fall of 1957, out of a desire for a United Church Sunday school in the area. The school opened with ten teachers on September 8, 1957. The Presbytery formally sanctioned the establishment of a congregation in October 1957, and Cadboro Bay had its first regular service on March 23, 1958. Church groups formed by early 1959 included the Afternoon and Evening Groups of the Woman's Association (later the United Church Women), the C.G.I.T., Explorers, and a Junior Choir. The Edward Church Hall was dedicated on April 3, 1960, and with fund raising continuing through the 1960s, a new sanctuary was built and consecrated in 1968. On September 8, 2015, the congregation amalgamated with Gordon Head United Church to form Cadboro Bay Gordon Head United Church.
