      History

      Henry Pring Davidson was born in Dublin, Ireland on January 20, 1884. He received his theological training at Manitoba Theological College and was ordained by the Presbyterian Church at Winnipeg in 1912. He served congregations in Calgary and Manitoba before coming to British Columbia. At Church Union in 1925, he became a minister of The United Church of Canada and served Britannia Beach (1925-1927); Dollarton (1929-1931); Riverview, Vancouver (1932-1939); and Qualicum (1940-1950). In the wider church, Davidson served as Chair of the Conference Committee on Social Services and Evangelism, as well as Chair of the Extension Committee for Victoria Presbytery. He retired in 1950 and died August 26, 1972.
