        History

The Delta Golden Rods and Reels Society was founded and incorporated in 1977 at McKee House, 4705 Arthur Drive, Ladner. The Society was a member of the BC Wildlife Federation and affiliated with the Delta Ladner Rod and Gun Club. The main objectives of the society were to encourage retired people to enjoy outdoor recreation and to make all residents of British Columbia aware of the value of BC's fish, wildlife, and outdoor recreational resources. The first executive consisted of Joan W. Abbot, Cathy Macintosh, and Dianne E. Harris. Due to declining membership, the society was dissolved in 1996.
