Biographical history
The Destrube family lived at Rife, via Vegreville, Alberta. Georges, Guy, Paul, and Dan Destrube served in France during World War I, Guy and Paul dying in action in 1917.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of correspondence regarding World War I, 1915-1919, mostly letters and postcards from Georges Destrube in France, with a few from other family members and friends (some are in French). The subject of the letters is mostly about army life/war and the untimely deaths of Guy and Paul Destrube. Also included are clippings from "The Illustrated London News", from 1857 and 1870.
