Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, tenders for services, reports to Council and Committees, copies of contracts and agreements, photocopies of newspaper clippings, copies of bylaws, plans and photographs relating to the provision of garbage collection and disposal services, including recycling and composting initiatives. The series includes equipment appraisals, and cost comparison studies on municipal vs. private garbage collection. The series also includes photographs of illegally dumped garbage, a solid waste collection study, and files relating to pyrolysis (solid wastes energy recovery), garbage complaints, garbage tenders, solid waste disposal sites (Burns Bog), cleanup campaigns, energy conservation, recycling, composting, and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
