History
The Garibaldi Olympic Development Association was registered as a society in 1960, its original objects being to promote the Whistler Mountain area of Garibaldi Park as the site for the 1968 Olympic Winter Games. The association later became involved in the development of the Whistler area as a ski resort. Jack S. Shakespeare was the Chairman of the Association.
