Geoffrey Capes emigrated from England to Vancouver in 1911. He lived in Portland, Oregon from 1913 to 1917 and served overseas in the Canadian Army from 1917 to 1919. From 1920 to 1922 he served with the Soldier Settlement Board Office in Merville. He lived the rest of his life in Courtenay, B.C.
