Administrative history
The first service was held on October 7, 1956 at the R.M. Grauer School, and the first Communion Service and Reception of Members on February 17, 1957. Gilmore Park was recognized as a Congregation on September 29, 1957. A Christian Education Centre was built in the summer of 1958, largely with volunteer labour, and dedicated on September 21,1958. Sunday School attendance at this time had risen from an initial 15 pupils to 230 pupils in September 1958 — additionally, Explorers, CGIT, Tyros, Hi-C, Brownies, Girl Guides, Cubs and Scouts used the Centre throughout the week. A manse was purchased in 1960 (sold in 1979), and in 1968 a sanctuary was built, dedicated on September 8, 1968. A Memorial Garden dedicated on August 12, 1990; the latter half of the 1990's saw the building of the Gilmore Park seniors' residence and a new sanctuary, dedicated on June 20, 1999.
