        History

The Auxiliary was formed in 1954 as an extension of the Lake Cowichan United Church Women. Its purpose was to unite all women of the congregation for the total mission of the church to provide a medium through which they could express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service. They held bake sales, bridge tournaments, etc. to raise money for missions, manse funds, Lake Cowichan United Church and gifts. The Auxiliary ceased in 1961, probably due to low membership.
