Series consists of records reflecting the administrative and operational responsibilities of the Richmond Sister City Committee. The series predominantly comprises of incoming and outgoing correspondence. The correspondence, both from and to a number of people in Richmond and Wakayama, include: the chair of the Committees, Mayors, and school representatives. Also included are membership lists, meeting attendance lists, copies of minutes, itineraries, receipts, conference records, and documentation concerning various official visits. Records relating to a proposed twinning with a city in China are additionally present. Arranged roughly in chronological order.
Richmond (B.C.). Sister City CommitteeSeries consists of scrapbooks and/or photo albums. The books/albums document exchanges and visits between Wakayama and Richmond since 1974. Richmond and Wakayama Mayors and other officials frequently appear in the images. Also included are newspaper clippings, ephemera, and momentos relating to Richmond's relationship with its Japanese sister city, Wakayama. The newspaper clippings document the Richmond Sister City Program and the activities of the Program and Committee. Also present are negatives which mainly correspond to the most recent photographs. The audio tape included is an unknown recorded speech in Japanese.

Minutes are predominantly in traditional format but, since ca. 1994, have taken the form of a newsletter. Minutes of early Richmond Sister City Committee sub-committees, such as the information meetings, joint meetings with Council and the School Board, and a study group, concerned with financial matters, are included. Some agendas, reports, travel itineraries, correspondence, and membership lists are also included in the series and are inter-filed roughly according to chronologic pertinence.
