The collection consists of oral history interviews pertaining to Powell River and environs as well as aboriginal life in the region.
The collection consists largely of street and land maps, including subdivision plans, and forestry maps of Powell River and area including Texada Island, Savary Island, and some islands north of Desolation Sound.
The collection consists of photographs of Powell River and area including Texada and Savary Islands. Photographs depict the pulp and paper mill of the Powell River Company, logging, the townsite and Powell River suburbs, First Nations peoples, sports, community groups, businesses, buildings and classes and students at local schools. Many of the photographs were created by photographer Rod LeMay, who worked as a photographer for the Powell River Company.
The collection consists of sound and video recordings of interviews with pioneers of the Powell River district and primarily of those who lived in the area between 1910 and 1930.
