The fonds consists of correspondence of Doran family members and a collection of postcards depicting the Powell River Company mill and Powell River scenes.

The collection consists of photographs of Powell River and area including Texada and Savary Islands. Photographs depict the pulp and paper mill of the Powell River Company, logging, the townsite and Powell River suburbs, First Nations peoples, sports, community groups, businesses, buildings and classes and students at local schools. Many of the photographs were created by photographer Rod LeMay, who worked as a photographer for the Powell River Company.

The fonds consists of black and white photographs of the Powell River Company mill, the townsite of Powell River, Powell Lake, and Cranberry Lake. Some of the photographs are by well-known early photographers of the Powell River area, including Ellis and Rod Le May.

The collection includes photographs created by and given to Jack Wilson.
