The fonds consists of letters to Joanne Kyger from the poet, Gary Snyder, several with enclosed poems. The letters document in detail the life and thoughts of Snyder when he was living in Kyoto, Japan. Fonds includes carbon copies of letters Kyger wrote in reply.

Film is the only remaining print of Andy Warhol's unauthorized version of "The Beard" (1966). Correspondents include Richard Brautigan, Robert Creeley, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Bruce Conner, Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder and Philip Whalen.

Correspondence, much of it to editor Edward Van Aelstyn, includes letters from Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, Michael McClure, Gary Snyder, Jonathan Williams, Ron Loewinsohn, Clayton Eshleman and Philip Whalen.
