Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, appplications and plans relating to the installation, maintenance, inspection and use of municipal waterworks. Topics and intiatives include: applications for water main connections; policy statements and rate tables regarding water and sewer rate charges; studies into the condition and status of the water supply; complaints from the public regarding damaged fire hydrants or water mains; reports on the types, specifications, and quality of materials to be used in municipal water works; records relating to drinking water quality and the GVRD water supply study; records of the Waterworks Coordination Committee; and reports on the condition of the municipal waterworks system. The series includes applications for waterworks services from developers and individuals and detailed plans for the provision of sanitary sewer and waterworks systems. The series also includes certificates of approval for proposed waterworks services from the Provincial Health Ministry, in response to required plans submitted by the Engineering Department. Some of the records also document the municipality's involvement with the Greater Vancouver Regional District, its Water Quality Technical Committee, and the Greater Vancouver Water District.

Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, copies of committee minutes, contracts, reports, studies, plans and photographs relating to the construction and maintenance of drainage works in Richmond. The records in this series deal with all aspects of storm drainage and flood control, and overlap with other series in the areas of culverts and dykes. The records in this series cover policy, programming, financing and operational aspects of drainage works, and include signed contracts for construction and maintenance of dykes, pumphouses, drainage channels and ditches. The series includes general files which cover a range of topics and intiatives, from measurement of rain fall to the placement of drainage works. In addition, the records document the involvement of the Engineering Department in the Fraser River Flood Control Program and include separate files for Mitchell Island, dyke improvement, local improvement initiatives. and improvements to Woodwards Slough. Includes records relating to the Drainage Coordination Committee, the Lower Mainland Municipal Association Dyking Committee, and the Agric-Food Regional Development Subsidiary Agreement (ARDSA). Also includes a detailed dyke inspection report of May 1988 with 174 photographs of dykes and dyke-related facilities.

Series contains records documenting the establishment of the position and its mandate; economic development strategies; work of the city's Economic Development Advisory Committee; the establishment of Business Improvement Areas (downtown and Steveston) in Richmond; interaction and cooperation with the federal and provincial governments and the Greater Vancouver Vancouver Regional District; funding for and cooperation with community groups including the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, the Richmond Town Centre Business Association, and the Richmond Farmers' Institute; inquiries by companies relating to establishing businesses or offices in Richmond; Asian trade missions and delegations; initiatives to enhance tourism; twinning programs, including proposed twinning with a city in China through a program sponsored by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and exchanges and economic development activities with Wakayama, Richmond's sister city in Japan. Includes files relating to the Richmond Science and Technology Awareness Committee and of Science and Technology Awareness Week events.

Fonds consists of seven series: heritage investigation permit records, 1995-1996; park opening, 1996; shovel tests, 1996; photographs series, 1995-1996, which includes images from the site and of the excavation; excavation units field records; 1995-1996, detailing field units 1-11; background information, 1995-1996, predominantly supplied by the GVRD including drafting information, surveyors reports, traces, historical information, and copies of aerial photographs; and daily notes, 1995-1996 which includes Fort-to-Fort trail construction notes, notes related to work with Ducks Unlimited, general daily notes which also record employee hours, and some plans and location guides.

Series consists of records created by the Office of the Mayor during the terms of Mayors Gil Blair and Greg Halsey-Brandt. Series contains correspondence, memos, reports, proclamations, transcripts of and notes for speeches and addresses, press releases and commentaries, and some resource and reference material. Records reflect the interaction between the Mayor and other levels of government, government agencies and commissions, corporate interests, and various community groups, as well as the Mayor's views on a variety of issues, including economic development, the environment, transportation, land use, municipal infrastructure, regional government, and inter-governmental affairs. Included are records relating to the federal and provincial governments, the Greater Vancouver Regional District, the Fraser River and North Fraser Harbour Commissions, the Vancouver International Airport Authority, Steveston Harbour Authority, Vancouver Regional Transit Commission, the Waste Reduction Commission and the Richmond School Board.
