The series consists of a single file which contains copies of bylaws authorizing the acquisition and dedication of property, correspondence showing negotiations between individuals, businesses and the City regarding the widening of the road, as well as memoranda relating to engineering issues raised by the widening of the road, such as the provision of fresh water and sewerage, and the relocation of fences, ditch crossings, driveways, and high voltage electrical service poles.

Series includes records from the Community Planning Association (1953-1986), the Advisory Town Planning Commission (1953-1958), and the Joint Metropolitan Town Planning Commission (1948-1957). The majority of the series is comprised of studies, area plans and development strategies, e.g., Steveston Study, Garry Point, Richmond Community Plan, Residential Land Use Study, and Economic development strategy. Series also includes notices and records regarding staff training in community planning.

Waterworks atlas
