Series consists of death and burial records of Chinese persons in Victoria, BC. Beginning in 1903, Chinese persons were buried at the Chinese Cemetery at Harling Point in Oak Bay. The series consists of the the following record types:
Medical certificates of death, issued under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, for Chinese persons in Victoria. Information collected on death certificate includes: name of deceased, age of deceased, sex of deceased, date of examination, location of examination, cause of death, examiner's name, profession and residence. Entries are in English
Burial permits, in most cases attached to death certificates. Information collected on permit includes: registration number, name of deceased, age in years and months, where born, where died, date of death, day and hour of burial, cemetery row and lot numbers, name of undertaker, burial fee, cause of death and attending physician. Information in English and Chinese, including additional personal information in Chinese, such as more detail about birthplace.
Burial permits issued by the Chinese Benevolent Cemetery Company are addressed to the Caretaker of the Chinese Benevolent Cemetery, also indicate the hour burial is to take place, and are signed by the President.

Series consists of records generated by cannery workers and fishermen at Brunswick Cannery in the course of purchasing supplies at the cannery store and delivering their fish catch to the cannery. Individual workers kept running accounts at the cannery store for the purchase of food, clothing, hardware, and other sundries, recording the purchases in small notebooks (account books). The series contains records such as: counter check books used as receipts for fish brought to Brunswick Cannery and fish tally receipts. The records include bound form books (Lovell's Counter Check Books) and loose pages from some that record such information as type and number of fish received, the fishermen's name or initials, the number of the boat, and the amount paid for the fish.

Brunswick Cannery (Canoe Pass, B.C.)Series consists of provincial and municipal licenses allowing the operation of Brunswick Cannery at Canoe Pass, gill-net licenses, court summons between the cannery and fishermen for monies owed and information about licenses granted to fishermen. The series also includes contracts signed between the cannery and fishermen that oblige the fisherman to sell his catch to Brunswick Cannery in return for rent of equipment and/or an agreed price for fish, and a contract signed between an agent and the cannery for the supply of skilled labour under the "Chinese Contract" system.

Ferry, Carney W.Series consists of invoices, receipts, lists of outstanding accounts, ledgers, bank statements, and daily pack reports, largely resulting form the operation of Brunswick Cannery, 1898-1930, as well as the Anglo American Cannery, 1986 to 1902. Invoices include billings from suppliers in Vancouver and New Westminster as well as local suppliers of groceries, lumber, hardware, etc. in Port Guichon and Ladner, and from local individuals. The invoices show changes in canning techniques, for example, invoices from the American Can Company for new types of can. Brunswick Cannery also received memorandums of debits and credits assigned to the cannery for supplies received from and traded to sister canneries and the head office of B.C. Packers. The ledgers are in the form of Net Books and contain information pertaining to fishermen and cannery workers who have accounts with the cannery for boats, equipment, food and supplies.
Series includes receipts for moneys paid by the British Columbia Packers Association to persons to fish, wages, and work done, and to persons and companies for goods and services supplied to Brunswick Cannery. Hand written entries give names of those receiving money, the amount, and the type of work done, and therefore supply personnel information. Other incomplete sets of records include lists of debts owed to the Association by its employees, bank statements, and daily reports of pack.

The 1934 British Empire Games were the second of what is now known as the Commonwealth Games. They were held at the White City Stadium in London, England from August 4–11, 1934, apart from the cycling at Fallowfield Stadium, Manchester, and the swimming, which took place at the Empire Pool in Wembley. Seventeen national teams took part, including the Irish Free State.This series consists of photographs, programmes, a certificate, correspondence, and miscellaneous items related to the 1934 British Empire Games.
