The fonds consists of diaries, journals, notes and log books, all written by Peters except the log of the vessel Earl Grey. The voyages of the Sarah and the Queen of the Seas are detailed. One notebook is of correspondence from Peters on the Esk to the Barque Valparaiso. The log of the Earl Grey is written by Master John Sharp, detailing voyage from Liverpool to Valparaiso. Fonds includes letters to Peters from the Commander-in-Chief, India and from the Collector of Customs, Kurachee (Karachi). Fonds also includes charts of Indian Ocean, China, Africa, lighthouses in the British Isles, English Channel, Bay of Bristol and South America as well as Board of Trade wind charts. Also included is a plan of the Queen of the Seas, maps of England and Ireland, and an oil painting of the Queen of the Seas.

Fonds consists of one typed manuscript written in 1940 by James McMahon. He describes his early years in Ontario, his life on the 200 acre family bush farm in Hinchersbrook, Ontario, the homestead his family built north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, his work in a tie camp for the C.P.R., his experiences during the Riel Rebellion, his work in logging camps near Revelstoke, his work as a blacksmith and garage dealer in Enderby, B.C., and his experiences trapping and prospecting in northern B.C. An addendum describes his trip to southwestern United States in 1939. The manuscript includes a great deal of detail and excellent stories about people and places.

There are materials related to the Womens Institute Heritage Club such as a 1941-1942 scrapbook entitled Womens Institute scrapbook vol. III, a Womens Institute Heritage Club scrapbook/album 1963-1987, and essays and newspaper clippings 1940-1960 detailing the history of the Institute, particularly in the Fraser valley area. There are minutes of meetings of the Douglas District Womens Institute 1984-1997 along with a roll call for Douglas District 1954-1986, and cash books for the Douglas District 1953-1976 and1986-1998.
