Part of Delta Heritage Advisory Committee fonds

Series consists of records arising from the first phase of the Heritage Inventory Project conducted by the Delta Heritage Advisory Commission. The series is arranged into five subseries, each containing case files identified according to the function of the structure or area inventoried. These include: residential, religious, institutional, and commercial buildings, as well as conservation areas. Case files created in 1979 contain copies of Canadian Inventory of Historical Building forms, research materials such as copies of newspaper clippings and archival records, and photographs of the buildings. Subsequent files created in the later stage of the project (1982) are less comprehensive. The series also contains a subseries of administrative records such as Canadian Inventory of Historical Building forms, minutes, correspondence, and ephemeral material. A publication entitled "Delta Heritage Report" includes the Project's historical background, its purposes and methodologies, and the final inventory of heritage buildings and sites.
