CA LMA MS 6 · Fonds · 1969

The fonds consists of the records of the Lytton and District Board of Trade for 1969. Includes correspondence, to and from the Board and the Minister of Lands and Forests in regards to the extension of timber rights for a local logging operation and mill, the Spatsum Lumber Company. Accompanying the correspondence is a copy of the official petition sent to the Minister, listing the signatures and occupations of all local residents in favour of this action. The letters and petition were the outcome of a severe economic downturn, in that if the local lumber mill was not recognized as an 'established licensee' and allotted crown timber rights, it could no longer survive.
