The fonds consists of personal records of George Bird including correspondence, bills, receipts, Christmas cards, diary (1902), copies of newspaper and magazine article written by Bird, scrapbooks and an historical account by Bird of early life in Alberni and Port Alberni; business records of George Bird including monthly timebooks (1899-1913) and records of customer orders (1910-1915) for Bird's sawmill operations. Fonds includes school certificates of Doris and Florence Bird and Doris Bird's historical accounts of sawmills in the Alberni area.
