Nanaimo Historical SocietyFonds consists of audio, video, and visual materials created by Basil and Edythe Hartley. Materials include video footage of the Haisla people, which Hartley shot while working in Kitimaat from 1941-1944, a voiceover for the footage which Hartley’s widow, Edythe McClure, created in ca. 1983, a letter, and three photographs of Kitimaat people and landscapes. The three audio cassettes all contain the same 1983 recording.

Record series of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Nanaimo, B.C.) subgroup consist of minutes of congregational meetings (1886-1911), Board of Managers (1886-1897, 1900-1944), session (1892-1911), and Woman's Missionary Society Auxiliary (1924-1925). In all cases, there is a distinct break between these records and similar series for St. Andrew's United Church. Record series of St. Andrew's United Church (Nanaimo, B.C.) include minutes of congregational meetings (1926-1966), Official Board (1925-1966), Session (1925-1934, 1953-1966), and Stewards (1925-1966); records of Sunday School (1925-1952), various women's organizations (1925-1967), and a young people's organization 1935-1943); and scrapbooks of press clippings (1932-1938).

Bowen Auto CampFonds consists of one volume that lists daily tonnage totals, amount of coal and rock per ton, number of miners, timbering and other statistics related to the extraction of coal. Volume also includes total annual tonnages for 1952 and 1953. Annual tonnage totals are comparable to the totals given in the Minister of Mines Annual Reports for 1952 and 1953 and confirm the volume's provenance.
Bright MineCollection consists of correspondence and notes, compiled by Fred Taylor, related to the City of Nanaimo's acquisition of an old steam coal mine whistle from Air Chime Manufacturing Company. The coal mine whistle was blown every day in Nanaimo to announce shift changes and other mining related events. Includes a report on chain of title of various local mining companies and council minutes relating to Fred Taylor's role as negotiator of the whistle's return to Nanaimo. Also includes two photographs of Fred Taylor and Mayor Gary Korpan with whistle.
