The fonds consists of all records of the City of Richmond, and include the full range of local government rights, responsibilities and activities. The fact that the City of Richmond is comprised of islands forming the delta of the Fraser River has resulted in dyking, drainage, and bridge building being prominent in the work and records of the municipality. In addition to bylaws and minutes of council and committees of council, other functions documented in municipal records include administration and operation of municipal holdings and services including: municipal land and buildings, roads and highways, waterworks, parks and recreation, fire and police services, public works, engineering, planning and zoning.

Collection consists of a selection of of correspondence, financial records, promotional materials and other business records which document Marine Products Company's manufacturing of steering wheels, as well as the importing of raw materials, and the exporting of finished goods. Also included in the collection is a selection of Jack Lubzinski's personal records that demonstrate his interest in physics and mechanics, and his early achievements, as well as several family photographs. The records have been arranged into two series: 1. Marine Products Company business records (1951-2003); 2. Jack Lubzinski personal records (ca. 1890-2000).

Series consists of minutes of the Board of License Commissioners, between June 13, 1894 and September 12, 1917, documenting the history of liquor supply and related activities in the community. The names and locations of social clubs, individuals, public houses, businesses and hotels are documented in the minutes. Reports of the Licence Inspector / Chief of Police record activities of gambling and gaming and details about clientelle in the hotel and clubs. In the later years (1913-1917), the Board heard many complaints and revoked licenses for the serving of liquor to "Indians", failure to operate licensed premises as a "hotel", or for allowing gambling on the premises. Convictions for illegal sale of liquor are also documented.

The collection consists of certificates, notes and report cards relating to Cheverton's education; correspondence, certificates and a sound recording relating to the Hudson's Bay Company 250th anniversary essay contest; general correspondence relating to memorial services, civil defence training, and other general topics; and a collection of postcards. Photographs of the Richmond area have yet to be arranged or described.

Minutes document discussions and activities of the Board concerning pollution control and other environmental issues, and public health programs relating to infectious diseases and sanitary conditions. Minutes are for the years 1895-1910, 1953-1963, 1966, and 1970-1971.

Ted Clark fonds

Fonds consists of Ted Clark's collection of images of Vancouver streetcars and trolley coaches, Interurban trams and trains on various lines. Images depict streetcars and trams in various locations in and around Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver, Squamish, New Westminster, Burnaby and Chilliwack. Also included are a several images of trains in other parts of Canada, and in the United States. Records are arranged in four series: 1. Negatives; 2. Slides; 3. Prints; 4. Moving images.

Fonds consists primarily of scrapbooks and photograph albums compiled by Gwen Anderson or received from various sources and all related to Henry Anderson's political career, and to the Andersons' involvement in community organizations and events in Richmond. The scrapbooks and albums document Richmond's growth and development during Anderson's time in office, and reflect the commitment both Henry and Gwen Anderson felt toward their community. Also included in the fonds are memorabilia related to Anderson's time in office, including slide photographs of various Richmond scenes, pamphlets related to events he and his wife attended, and a sound recording of opening ceremonies at the Richmond Imperial Oil service centre. These appear to have been set aside by Gwen Anderson. In addition, the fonds includes one file of ephemeral items, such as Ladner ferry tickets, unmarked ballot sheets and a building permit, and three oil paintings given as gifts to the Andersons. Fonds is arranged in four series: 1. Scrapbooks and albums; 2. Paintings; 3. Reeve Anderson memorabilia; 4. Ephemera.

The Chilton family photograph album contains photographs depicting family members, friends, community and family events, and military personnel and ships. Photographs show scenes of Steveston, North Vancouver, Peachland, Vancouver and various holiday locations. Steveston photographs include buildings, street scenes, boats, wharves, canneries, and individuals and community gatherings. Among the Steveston buildings depicted are the Post Office, Japanese Church, the Japanese Hospital and Japanese School.

Series consists of minutes of regular and special meetings of the Board of Police Commissioners which document the Board's role of overseeing police activities, staffing, accounts and equipments, as well as its duty to report to the Municipal Council and to receive complaints from the public. Included in the minute book for meetings from 1915-1920 are the Chief of Police's monthly and annual reports, which include arrest reports and financial reports of the Police Department. Minutes of meetings of the Board between 1920 and 1927 are missing.

Fish family fonds

Fonds consists of two sets of photographs from the early to mid-twentieth century. The first set contains three photographs of the Marpole bridge and five of the construction of the Oak Street bridge. The second set contains thirteen photographs of the Fish family's farm and lands, including the Brentwood Farm Dairy, which were rented from the Brighouse Estates for a number of years.

The images document the history of Richmond’s race tracks and horse racing industry. Two cassette tapes containing recordings of Jack Short calling races are also included. The fonds consist of textual records and photographs produced in relation to the Richmond Review. Textual records consist of Richmond Review newspapers and some reference material. This includes Review issues on microfilm (1932-2003), as well as clippings from the Review. This also includes hard-copy editions of the Review, covering the years 2002-2015.
The photographic materials consist of negatives taken by and used in the production of the Review; a number of these photographs were taken by Mark Patrick or Chung Chow, between 1986 and 1998.

Fonds consists of photographs and textual material related to the Aida Knapp School of Dancing which operated in Richmond between 1947 and 1979. Also included is a biography of Aida Knapp, written by her son Wes in 2003. Also included are photograph prints of Aida Knapp as a member of the dance troupe, the Twelve Aristocrats.
