Series consists of records that pertain to the purchase and sale of stocks and other investment vehicles by the following companies: Carnavon Holdings, McLeod Investment Corporation Ltd., Alfred W. McLeod Ltd., Realty Securities Ltd., Seeley and Co. Ltd., Westminster Mortgage Corporation Ltd., and Westminster Trust Co. Series contains one stock register book.

Insurance records

Series consists of records that pertain to the insurance activities of the Alfred W. McLeod Company. Series contains two files of textual records, books, and B.C. Underwriters’ index cards for New Westminster properties.

Property Management

Series consists of records that pertain to the property management activities of the Alfred W. McLeod Company. Series contains copies of classified ads and other advertisements placed by the Alfred W. McLeod Company in various newspapers. There is also a list of custodians employed at various properties managed by the Company.

Photographs

Series consists of ca. 300 black and white prints and ca. 270 negatives. Almost all of these photographs appear to have been taken in conjunction with the McLeod Company’s insurance and property management functions. Thus most of the photographs are of various pieces of property presumably insured, managed, or developed by the McLeod Company. An appraisal of school buildings was carried out in 1950 and a number of photrographs of schools are included in this series.

Wills

Series consists of records that pertain to the Dominion Trust Co.’s role as a trustee and/or executor of wills. Individuals deposited their wills with this company for safe-keeping. Series contains one box of wills.

Estate files

Series consists of records that pertain to the business and personal activities of the subjects of the files. Each estate file has its own unique collection of records. The original provenance of these records was the subjects of the files. Subsequently these records were used by another party in the course of settling these subjects’ estates. Series contains three boxes of files. These files include deeds, correspondence, invoices, receipts, insurance policies, investment certificates, contracts, indentures, and other records. The series includes several files pertaining to early Sikh residents.

Series consists of 10 files: financial records, vendor permits, correspondence, constitution and bylaws, Centennial Ball, scrapbook, market closure, card index of vendors, guest books and photographs.

Series consists of a minutes book that contains the resolutions and decisions, and financial information of the business.

Income debentures

Series consists of records that pertain to the issue of debentures to investors. Series consists of income debentures in denominations of $100.00 and $500.00 dollars. They are filed by investor name. Series contains debenture certificates.

Minutes

Series consists of records that pertain to the motions, resolutions, and decisions of the directors and shareholders of the Company. There are also financial records appended to some of the minutes. A regular feature of the minutes is the recording of loans that were approved by the directors of the Company. The series contains six books of minutes.

Stock registry

Series consists of records that pertain to the issuance of shares to investors. The series contains one registry book.

Stock transfers

Series consists of records that pertain to transfer of shares among the investors in Westminster Trust Co. The series contains two share transfer books.

Stock certificates

Series consists of records that pertain to the sale, transfer, and cancellation of stock certificates of the Westminster Trust Co. Series contains two certificate books and a collection of loose certificates.

Wills

Series consists of records that pertain to the Westminster Trust Co.’s function as trustee and/or executor of wills. Individuals deposited their wills with the Company for safe-keeping. These wills were placed in Westminster Trust Co. envelopes and then sealed. Series contains three boxes of wills.

Architectural drawings

eries consists of records that pertain to the architectural specifications of the Westminster Trust Building. They document the proposed electrical alterations to the Westminster Trust Building. There is also a partial floor plan of the ground floor. Series contains two blueprints.

Family records

Series consists of records created by the family and unrelated to business. Items include a World War Two ration booklet, a passport, a scrapbook commemorating the 1939 royal visit, and a will for a Richard Turner dated 1874.

Research records

Series consists of material related to J.P. Bole's interest in history: a copy of his 1954 report to the Native Sons of B.C. his role of Grand Historian. The report contains an account of the naming of Belcarra where the Boles owned property. There is some material on the RCMP schooner, the St. Roch, including a letter from J.S. Matthews, Archivist for Vancouver, copy prints from the Vancouver Archives, and newspaper clippings regarding commemorative plaques established by the Native Sons of B.C.

Series consists of items of an ephemeral nature including a copy of the roll of recipients for The Good Citizen Metal published by the Native Sons of B.C., Tillicum, a copy of the Pioneers of Vancouver, Here Before the Train, published by the Vancouver Archives, a collection of poems entitled, Gems, by Billy Browne.

Series consists of photographs that primarily document Corbould family members time serving in the Canada's military. Many of the photos were taken by Charles Bernard (C.B.) Corbould who served in Egypt and North Africa during World War One.
