Series documents John Edwin Loucks' trips to Chiba, Japan, the twin city of the City of North Vancouver. From the 1970s until the 1970s, Loucks and city councillors visited Chiba and the two cities organized various activities such as the Youth Exchange Programs. Records in this series consist of correspondence, pamphlets and photographs depicting civic ceremonies, such as dinners, the exchange of gifts and award ceremonies. Records are arranged by visit.

Series documents John Edwin Loucks' activities as a teacher and principal and his involvement in the North Vancouver Teachers' Association, the North Vancouver School Board and the North Vancouver School District from the 1940s to the 1990s. Records in this series consist of correspondence, meeting agendas, teachers' contact details, school curricula, log books, teacher evaluations, bulletins and budgets and salaries.

Series consists of the summit registers for Mt. Rexford (1951-1998), Kwoiek Needle (1964-2000), Mt. Slesse (1989-2003), MacDonald Peak (1990-2002) and Sky Pilot Mountain (1999-2008). They include the names of party members, the date and route information. Given that these documents were stored at the summit over prolonged periods of time, they are generally in poor condition - several having been badly water damaged.

The series contains 14 audio recordings created by Jeffrey Harbottle between 1992 and 1999. The recordings are interviews, conversations and reminiscences of people who worked with the Harbottle family and encompass a number of topics. The videocassette is a home recording of the first time the F6 Union engine was started up following it's restoration by Jeffery Harbottle.

This series represents Jeff Harbottle’s fascination with mechanised transport and ocean going vessels, both union steamships, of similar type to the M.V. Reliant, and other ships.

Series consists of files of correspondence maintained, for the most part, by the Secretary of the British Columbia Mountaineering Club. The files contain all manner of routine business and particular concerns of the club - some of which were removed to separate subject files; for example those relating to access to watersheds, ski patrol services, and correspondence from club members during World War II.

Series documents almost thirty years of John Edwin Loucks' career as a teacher and principles depicting him with his colleagues and students. Loucks taught at various North Vancouver elementary and high schools including North Star, Capilano and Eastview Schools. Series is arranged chronologically.

Reports of the following officials and committees are included: President, Treasurer, Auditor, Editor, Librarian, Natural History Section, Climbing Committee (or Climbing and Ski Committee), Membership Committee, Cabin Committee, Nominating Committee, and Social Committee. Series contains original photographs taken in order to illustrate the publications 103 Hikes in Southwestern British Columbia and 109 Walks in B.C.'s Lower Mainland.

Series consists of photograph albums, loose prints, glass plate slides, glass plate negatives, film negatives and other photographic materials created by the BCMC and its members. The photographs cover a wide range of activities undertaken by the club, and are particularly strong in their documentation of exploration and mountaineering trips in British Columbia. Some of the more prolific photographers whose works are included in this series are listed below. The dates at which they were active, or the period covered by their photographs, is indicated in parentheses: Charles Chapman (1900s-1910s), Jim Irving (1910s-1920s), Preston L. Tait (1910s-1940s), Charles Townsend (1920s), Neal Carter (1920s), P.R. Lockie (1920s-1960s), George Wallis (1930s-1940s), George Rose (1950s-1960s), Mary Wells Anderson (1950s-1960s), Martin Kafer (1950s-1960s), Michael Feller (1970s-2000s). Over 40 named photographers are represented in the BCMC fonds, though there are also a large number of photographs for which the identity of the photographer is unknown.
