Series consists of records related to Duke’s personal and administrative affairs. This series includes personal notes and memos written by Duke for family, friends and staff; correspondence received by Duke from family, friends and business associates; administrative correspondence received by Duke from agents, publishers and other associates; and miscellaneous ephemera collected by Duke. This series also contains records relating to Duke’s administrative affairs.

Series contains an unpublished manuscript of George Woodcock’s translation of Proust’s “On the Way to Swann’s House” and one videocassette of “George Woodcock: Anarchist of Cherry Street” recorded for CBC-TV.

The bulk of the series is comprised of photographs and negatives taken during Brown’s journey to China, Korea, and Japan in 1936-1937. The photograph albums contain comments on the subject matter. Also present are photos taken in America and miscellaneous photos of Brown and other unknown individuals.

Newspaper clippings

Series consists of newspaper clippings, dating from 1946-2010. The clippings pertain to the lives of Harry and Valerie Jerome, including their achievements in track and involvement in various groups and initiatives. As the clippings were accumulated by different persons, including Harry, Valerie, and friends who sent the clippings to Valerie following Harry’s death, they are contained within their own series. The clippings reflect the mixed reaction that the media had towards Harry Jerome; many of the articles are critical of Harry. During the peak years of his career from 1960-1968, there are many articles about his various races, records, and injuries. The clippings dating from 1982-2010 were collected by Valerie Jerome and include posthumous articles about Harry and the creation/unveiling of the Harry Jerome statue.
