The fonds consists of submisions and briefs, correspondence, minutes, landscape plans, and reference material generated by Mr. Landysheff's interest in promoting better community parks and recreation facilities for Delta. The fonds also includes Mr. Landysheff's original registers of meteorological observations taken at Pebble Hill, Tsawwassen, as well as publications from and correspondence with the Meteorological Branch. The fonds also includes memorabilia and writings by Mr. Landysheff on topics related to his work in the sugar beet industry, and to his interests in the history and welfare of his adopted country. The fonds consists of records relating to the functions and activities of John Christopherson, the manager of B.C. Packers Limited oyster operation on Boundary Bay in Delta. The records mainly deal with oyster operations at Boundary Bay and Pendrell Sound, and include daily work diaries, correspondence, invoices, cost estimates, time sheets, boat log books, inventories, newspaper clippings and other reference material. The fonds includes photographs that detail the operations of the Boundary Bay oyster plant. The fonds also includes personal records that belong to John and Grace Christopherson, including correspondence, a travel diary, and memorabilia that relate to their social activities in Delta. The fonds consists of an accounts journal and seventeen daily journals kept by John Honeyman (1845-1926) and his son Douglas Ramsey Honeyman (1886-1968) from 1883 to 1944, which describe farming the Honeyman family farm at Eden, Manitoba, from 1883 to 1895, the farm at Gulfside near Port Guichon from 1896 to 1902, and the East Delta farm from 1903 to 1914 and 1920 to 1944. Entries from 1883 to about 1905 were made by John Honeyman, and from 1906 to 1944 by Douglas Honeyman. John Honeyman's daily entries are more detailed than those made by Douglas and record farm work and family activities, especially those of the Honeyman children. The journals describe visits with family and neighbors, trips to New Westminster and Vancouver, weather observations, illness, entertainment and social activities. Entries about farm work record seasonal activities for tilling, planting and harvesting grains and potatoes; raising livestock; improving and building farm buildings, fences, etc.; and employing workers such as East Indians and Chinese and their wages. Entries also refer to community political events and frictions, and to work done on shared community infrastructure such as dykes, drainage ditches and roads.

Honeyman, John and Douglas
Jessie Reagh Belcher fonds

Fonds consists of textual and photographic material related to the Reagh family. The textual material consists of two papers regarding genealogical research conducted on Jessie Belcher's family. The first is entitled "The Wassell Family", was written by Wassell Randolph, with a forward added by Jessie Belcher, as well as a page indicating references to her mother's family. The second, which investigates the life of Elizabeth Wedgwood Hawksworth, Jessie Belcher's great-great-great paternal grandmother, was written by Mrs. Belcher herself and is entitled "Who Are You?". Another manuscript entitled "Reflection of Delta Central School" records Mrs. Belcher's memories of Delta Central School and includes anecdotes about teachers, classmates, and school activities. Mrs. Belcher attended the school in the 1930s. The textual records also contain advertising material including monthly calendars from Fisher's Drug And Book Store (1923), envelopes from Ladner United Sunday School, Mc & Mc Department Stores, the Ladner Studio, and a greeting card from Home Oil Distributors Limited. Another file contains greeting cards, an invitation to the opening of the No. 18 Elementary Flying Training School, Boundary Bay, and a name tag for a Graduate Dance for the Air Force, which Jessie Reagh attended in 1941. The tag is "part of wing of plane which cracked up on Sea Island." The file also contains a "Coronation 1937", a booklet prepared by the Department of Education and presented to elementary and high school children in the province. Jessie Reagh wrote an inscription in the centre of the booklet which includes the names of her teachers and classmates. Also included in the textual material are two books, "The New Canadian Hymnal" (1922), and the "Canadian Reader" (1931). The photographs include seven black and white photographs related to the Reagh family.

Holmes family fonds

The fonds consists of records generated by farming operations on the Holmes farm on Crescent Island, Delta, and by Locke Holmes' later activities after the farm was sold. The farm records are largely from the years 1910 to 1921 and include financial records, correspondence, and reference and miscellaneous material. Locke Holmes' records are few and give a general indication of his activities. The records have been arranged in the following series: financial records; Crescent Island B.C. Hay and Grain Growers' Association records; correspondence; reference and miscellaneous material; and Locke Holmes' material.

The collection consists of 39 copy negatives with 93 matching slides of Delta pioneers, schools and historical locations in Delta, and five cassette tapes of interviews with Delta pioneers conducted by grade five students of Holly Elementary School in Delta. The collection is the result of a centennial year project called "Those Were the Days" carried out by the students under the direction of their teacher Mr. G. Johnson. Photographs include copies of historical images as well as contemporary portraits and scenes. A project list of the images is available. People interviewed for the project were: Murray Davie, Tony and May Lagemaat, Jean Atkinson, Bertha Reynolds, John and Warrena Nottingham, Edith Bell, Mrs. Ellis Telfer, Mrs. Albert Weaver, Ed Vidulich and Dominic Bussanich.

Photographs consist of a 1916 postcard of Boundary Bay School students with their teacher Miss E. Mackenzie, a May Day postcard, a 1917 postcard of Westham Island School students, students and teachers of King George School in the 1920's and 1930's, teachers and students of Delta Central School in the 1920's, a 1913 Baptist picnic in Ladner, and five photographs of Delta Choral Society productions. Textual records consist of programs for the 1933 Delta Choral Society production of The Mikado, the 1934 production of The Pirates of Penzance, the 1935 production of The Gondoliers, a 1959 invitation to the opening ceremony of Deas Island Tunnel, and a 1981 program for the centennial banquet of All Saints Anglican Church.

The fonds consists of records assembled by the Friends of Boundary Bay through their office and research centre. Records include some administrative records of the Friends of Bounday Bay; some administrative records (such as minutes and membership lists) of the Boundary Bay Conservation Committee (a separate organization working in the same area); newsletter, brochures, and other published materials from various other environmental groups; reports to Delta Council and excerpts from Delta Council meeting minutes on various environmental issues; bulletins and copies of letters to various politicians regarding environmental issues; and artiles, reports, and newspaper clippings on various environmental issues, such as golf courses (especially the Boundary Shores golf course), landfill sites (especially Burns Bog), the Boundary Bay Airport, the Vancouver International Airport, road construction, bird populations in the Boundary Bay area, and other environmental issues.

The fonds consists of records created by Simeon Fisher during the course of owning and operating Fisher's Drug and Book Store. There are several wholesale invoices as well as nine large prescription invoice ledgers and correspondence between Mr. Fisher, local residents and National Drug Co. where he purchased wholesale drugs for his pharmacy. These records cover the years between 1902 and 1948 when his business was in operation. The fonds is arranged in three series: Correspondence; Prescription Invoices; Drug Invoices.

Ethel Mowat fonds

The fonds consists of records and photographs that document the activities of Ethel's parents, children and husband, and collections of photographs, taped and transcribed interviews, historical notes, and records accumulated in her function as member of various organizations, author of a memoir "From Dawn to the Twilight Years", and local historian. The fonds contains miscellaneous records of the I.O.D.E. and the Delta Museum and Archives, and photographs of members of the I.O.D.E. and Dugout committee. The fonds holds a collection of Mowat family photographs used in Ethel's memoir; a collection of records and photographs, largely belonging to the McKee family, found at the McKee House prior to its renovation as a Senior Citizen's Centre; and a collection of taped and transcribed interviews with Ethel and Sid Mowat, and others conducted by Ethel with local residents, including Bob Trim and Rosetta Saga.

Ernest Burnett fonds

The fonds consists of one series of material created by Ernest Burnett in his capacity as mayor: in particular, as a member of the Delta Centennial Committee, which held its meetings in Council chambers. Mr. Burnett's copies of the Committee minutes constitute one series of the fonds. A second series of material includes material Mr. Burnett created as treasurer of the Delta Agricultural Society. This series includes financial statements (1950-1954), and racing programs for Paterson Park (1962-1968). The final series in this fonds consists of one file containing a program for the "Freedom Ceremony" celebrating Delta's 90th Anniversary (1969), and a promotional newspaper entitled "Delta Election '71 News". which promotes the "Delta Team" of municipal candidates including incumbent Mayor Dugald Morrison, Alderman Doug Watkins, Ernie Burnett, and Harold Savage.

The fonds consists of Mr. Dunning's family and business records; records accumulated as a member of various community organizations; and documents, manuscripts, and photographs resulting from Edgar's work for the Delta newspaper, the Optimist, and his interest in Delta community events and history. Family records include correspondence and legal records regarding the property on 48th Avenue and Delta Street, as well as financial and educational certificates. A large series of memorabilia includes invitations and other ephemera, which Edgar accumulated as publisher and reporter for the Optimist and as active community member. Business records are largely from the Optimist printing business, and include examples of print products such as invitations, programs, letterheads, tickets, municipal reports, etc., which were printed for local people and businesses of Delta. A small series of Optimist newspaper records include lists of subscribers from the 1940s. The fonds includes a sample of Edgar's writings for the Optimist on historical topics, plus a larger group of manuscripts that have been edited by him in his capacity as editor of the Optimist and as an interested and knowledgeable local historian. The fonds also consists of minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, etc. accumulated by Edgar as a member of the Delta Community Band, various centennial committees, the Delta Historical and Museum Society, and other organizations. Edgar is a talented amateur photographer, and his photograph collection reflects his work as a reporter and his interest in the people and events of Delta.
