The fonds consists of records generated and utilized by the 16th Battalion (The Canadian Scottish). The fonds is arranged into 11 alphabetically organized series. These series include aerial photographs of the Western Front, information of a World War One operation at the city of Lens, orders issued to the Battalion, personnel records, photographs, publications (including early editions of "The Brazier"), reports, scrapbooks, information on training, minutes of meetings of the Veterans Association of the 16th Battalion, and a design for the 16th Battalion war memorial.

The fonds consists of a photocopy of Beach's typed copy of his report "Notes on the Battle of the Lake Trasimeno Line (1944). A statement on the covering page states "these have not been submitted to Higher Cmd for approval as some of the opinions expressed are unwise in the extreme." Also included is correspondence (photocopies of 2 typed letters in, together with photocopies of 2 replies) between William J. McAndrew, Directorate of History and Professor Beach (1986-87). The correspondence concerns the authorship of the report, as Beach's name was not attached to it, and questions about the activities of the 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade, which Beach served in.

The fonds consists of a cord-bound paper notebook containing a holograph musical play titled "A Pair of Them: A Musical Trifle in One Scene". Pasted on the inside cover is a clipping, depicting a scene from a production of the play at the Gaiety Theatre. There is a handwritten addition to the title page stating "Music Arranged Selected & Composed by Meyer Lutz". The cover is autographed by the author.

The collection consists of mimeographed scripts for two plays presented by the club at the Empire Theatre, Calcutta, India. The scripts come from the plays' original productions in England, several years earlier. Also included are programmes for the two plays, a clipping containing a review of one play, and a rehearsal list for the other play. The two plays are “Murder on the Second Floor” by Frank Vosper and “The Wind and the Rain” by Merton Hodge.

Inscribed on the flyleaf in pencil are the words ""Presumably the original MS and unique. It is probable that this is unpublished (not listed in NUC).
