The series documents the activities that Cunnings was involved with and led during his tenure at the District of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department and the development of the Department over time.

The series is arranged into thirteen files according to subject, and consists of textual records, photographs, ephemera, and newspaper clippings detailing sports, recreational programs and classes, parks and facility development, and events and initiatives undertaken by the Department, such as BC Summer Games, and Coquitlam Centennial celebrations.

Series consists of original and copy prints, negatives, contact prints, and slides of images largely of Delta people, places and events. The largest accession (1979-026) consists of prints used in Edgar Dunning's The Optimist newspaper business. Many of these prints have been annotated with cropping and other marks. The majority of images have been taken by Edgar Dunning; other images were given to him because of his interest in preserving Delta's history.

Series consists of one scrapbook and one binder that contain records related to the Capsule College events. This includes flyers and pamphlets, programs detailing lectures, reports and evaluations, and various photographs accompanied by descriptive captions. Photographs have been cut and glued to papers within the binder. Also included is various correspondence, including letters, facsimiles, and printed out emails. Series also includes cut out or photocopied newspaper articles related to the Capsule College events and CFUW. The scrapbook is exclusively news articles. One DVD is also included, titled "Mary's Cottage AGM 2009."

Series consists of legal documents sent to the Clerk?s Office or signed and sealed by Council and registered under the Clerk?s docket system. Such records include public works contracts, service agreements, deeds, development permits, development variance permits, subdivision permits, zoning and rezoning permits, grant documents and insurance policies, as well as some supporting correspondence. Each docket was given a unique docket number by the Clerk?s Office and filed numerically. Generally speaking, the dockets are the original records corresponding to Council resolutions dealing with the acceptance of agreements or approval of permits. The first two dockets contain records relating to the District?s incorporation.

Series consists of photograph albums, loose prints, glass plate slides, glass plate negatives, film negatives and other photographic materials created by the BCMC and its members. The photographs cover a wide range of activities undertaken by the club, and are particularly strong in their documentation of exploration and mountaineering trips in British Columbia. Some of the more prolific photographers whose works are included in this series are listed below. The dates at which they were active, or the period covered by their photographs, is indicated in parentheses: Charles Chapman (1900s-1910s), Jim Irving (1910s-1920s), Preston L. Tait (1910s-1940s), Charles Townsend (1920s), Neal Carter (1920s), P.R. Lockie (1920s-1960s), George Wallis (1930s-1940s), George Rose (1950s-1960s), Mary Wells Anderson (1950s-1960s), Martin Kafer (1950s-1960s), Michael Feller (1970s-2000s). Over 40 named photographers are represented in the BCMC fonds, though there are also a large number of photographs for which the identity of the photographer is unknown.

The Canadian Alpine Journal is a publication of the Alpine Club of Canada. While not a record of the BCMC, the journals have been included in the fonds of the BCMC in order to facilitate their retrieval. They contain numerous submissions by BCMC members and will be of interest to anyone researching the history of mountaineering in British Columbia and in Canada more generally. They have not been listed individually but the series consists of loose copies of the journal (1907-2000), digitized copies of the journal (1907-2010), plus an index to the journal for the period 1907-1966.
