File consists of two folders containing correspondence with, Hollander York Gallery, owned by Sue Crerar and Diane Rosenthal, 120 Scollard Street, Toronto. Of all his gallery associations, this was the most satisfying for Harrison. In the extensive files of letters and faxes, business is mixed with pleasure. File includes many sketches by Harrison of his dog Brunhilde (Broony), as well as jokes and memoirs of many visits to the gallery owners’ homes. Though many periods seem to be missing, they worked closely together from at least 29 January 1979 until the last letter 7 May 1997. The file ends with a letter of condolence after Sue Crerar’s death dated 22 March 2003.

File consists of correspondence with Harrison Galleries, owned by Alex Harrison, 2932 Granville Street, Vancouver. The Harrison Galleries, a long-established Vancouver company, had some success as Ted Harrison’s Vancouver dealer but were eventually overtaken as his agent there by Buschlen-Mowatt Galleries in 1991. Sales were sporadic after 1984, 30 in total noted.

File consists of correspondence with Gallery of the Golden Key, owned by Andrew de Vooght, 761 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver. Gallery of the Golden Key, also known as De Vooght Gallery, was the first to represent Harrison in western Canada. After Harrison’s debut in Ottawa, de Vooght enthusiastically produced his first show in the west and hoped to be Harrison’s exclusive Canadian representative. Communications ceased after 20 July 1973.

File consists of correspondence with Gold Design Jewels and Gallery, owned by Betty Oliver and Heidi Hubner, 355 4th Avenue S. W., Calgary. Harrison had a profitable relationship with this Calgary outlet. Subsequently Heidi Hubner worked at the Wallace Galleries, which took over Harrison’s business in that city.

File contains items related to the following:

• 24 December 1979 – 7 paintings had been sold already
• 31 October 1981 – solo show, reporting (9 December 1981) 27 sold

Downstairs Gallery was the first gallery to represent Harrison in Edmonton, but few sales resulted. With prices in an undated list ranging from $180 - $360, 7 paintings were sold. Other letters in the file details sales of 15 works.

File consists of correspondence with Buschlen-Mowatt, owned by Don Buschlen and Barry Mowatt, managed by Marilyn Plourde. This prestigious Vancouver gallery endeavoured to put Ted Harrison on the international map. An exhibition in Vancouver in 1992 resulted in strong sales and Ted attended Art Asia in Hong Kong in November of that year. Further plans for a touring show in Japan were not realized.

File consists of correspondence with Art Loft, 637 Sheridan Street, Honolulu Hawaii. Harrison was featured with six works in a group show in 1983 and another “feature” one year later. He and Nicky attended but no work was sold.

File consists of correspondence with Arctic Art Gallery, Box 935, Yellowknife, NWT. Arctic Art Gallery is Yellowknife’s municipal art gallery. Harrison contributed a painting to be auctioned in 1990, 1992, and again in 1996.

File consists of correspondence with AAG Fine Arts, owned by Arnold Gumowitz, managed by Penny Cohen, 421 7th Avenue, New York City. Arnold Gumowitz discovered Harrison at Gold Design in Calgary in 1986. He subsequently bought 5 of Harrison’s paintings and arranged a show in his Madison Avenue gallery. All 42 paintings seem to have been sold, though many of them may have been sold to Gumowitz’s gallery. A further exhibition was planned but did not take place. Correspondence continued until 19 January 1998 but no further shows were noted.

File contains items related to the following:
• 13 November 1986: Harrison sends 5 paintings on consignment
• 29 March 1989: Harrison sends 37 paintings on consignment
• 23 April 1989: shipped 400 prints and 100 Kobe exhibit posters with 3 paintings to NYC
• 05-25 May, 1989: first US showing of Ted Harrison paintings, sold out, “total value of the paintings was $88,188”
• 24 April 1989: AAG returned 200 prints and 300 posters to Harrison.

Files consist of correspondence with Eaton’s Art Gallery of Toronto, Galerie Royale of Vancouver, Artique Limited of Anchorage, the Assinaboia Gallery of Saskatchewan, and Diane Farris Ltd. of Vancouver.

File consists of the following items:
• 29 November 1973: Eaton’s Art Gallery, solo exhibition, 13 sold. No further correspondence
• Galerie Royale. Nelson Skalbania, owner, Vic Hay, manager, 7th and Granville, Vancouver. This gallery opened with considerable prestige but was in business a short time.
o 16 December 1974: 42 paintings consigned, 13 sold
o 16 June 1976: 12 paintings sold, 22 withdrawn from inventory, no further correspondence
• Artique Limited, owned by Jean Shadrach, 314 G Street, Anchorage Alaska. Harrison had a show in Anchorage 17-30 July, 1977.
o 1977: 23 paintings consigned
• Assinaboia Gallery, 2312 111 Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan. A very small file noting only one sale.
o 27 July 1982: one painting sold
• Diane Farris Limited. A sporadic correspondence seems to indicate that Harrison knew Farris outside this business relationship. When he concluded the association he noted that business and friendship should not be mixed. This is a short and incomplete file.
o 27 July 1982 – consigned 8 paintings
o 17 November 1982 – decided that the business was culminated
o 25 March 1988 – apparently a reprise of relations
