Andrew Reid fonds

Fonds consists of photographs relating to the personal life and recreational activities of Andrew Reid and extended family members. Andrew Reid and his friends were avid skiers and hikers and many of the photographs are of skiing at Hollyburn Ridge hiking in the North Shore mountains, or days on the beach in West Vancouver. The fonds also includes images of Alta Lake in Whistler, excursions to Bowen Island, the West Vancouver Tennis Club, the Royal visit of George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939, Andrew Reid's place of work, Forst's Radio and Appliance in North Vancouver, and its staff, as well as construction of the Lions Gate Bridge.

Fonds consists of multimedia materials created by Brauer as a result of her Survivors Today project, which documented the lives of Holocaust and Hiroshima survivors after the war and documented attendees at the Canadian Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and their Children held in Ottawa from April 28–30, 1985. Materials in fonds include audio cassette tape recordings of one-on-one interviews with survivors and one tape of four survivors speaking at a symposium on the Holocaust. Assorted textual materials include manuscripts, correspondence, biographies, transcripts of interviews, book proposals, publications, financial records and a matted display panel. Lastly, photographic materials in the fonds consist of negatives, contact sheets and prints produced by Brauer.

The Survivors Today project aimed to honour survivors’ recollections of sorrow while also expressing their hopes and triumphs in their new lives. Interviews focus on how survivors came to Canada, their adjustments and contributions to life in Canada, and their perceptions of Canadian society. Other topics covered include Judaism and faith, Israel, Europe, nuclear weapons and global peace.

The fonds of the SFU Childcare Society consists of records made or received in the course of administering the Society and its predecessor bodies and providing facilities, personnel and funding for childcare programs. The bulk of the material ranges from 1968 to the early 1990s. Activities documented include meetings of the various societies and centres established to provide childcare services; obtaining license agreements with the University; securing collective agreements with staff; planning for child care services; construction of buildings; correspondence and liaison with government officials and university administrators; and providing information to parents and staff.

James Delgado fonds

The fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Delgado since 1964. The fonds contains correspondence, personal records, photographs, slides, negatives, video recordings, audio recordings of interviews with Delgado, and files focusing on: projects (shipwreck and historic sites), expeditions, lectures and education, and writing. The fonds also focuses on Delgado’s work with the National Park Service in the US, his work with the Vancouver Maritime Museum and with the Institute for Nautical Archaeology. The fonds consists of one album of photographs taken by Sage between September 1945 and August 1946 at a relocation camp near Tashme, B.C. where she was a social worker. The photographs include general views of the scenery, individuals and groups and some smaller buildings. In addition to the camp shots, there are also pictures of Japanese Canadians preparing for relocation. The album also includes a newspaper clipping, post card and a typescript article about the Tashme Camp. The fonds also includes a small body of correspondence written by Margaret Sage to her parents Walter and Nelda Sage and to her brother Donald (1945/46).
