Biographical history
John William Mogg lived on an island near the Octupus Islands for approximately 20 years (c. 1890s). He was a surveyor who was given the island in return for his survey work. When he married his fiancee from England, he left the island and never returned.
Custodial history
Records were in the custody of the Mogg family.
