        History

Norman Prince Kinslor was born in Vancouver on September 10, 1906 to Solomon John and Elizabeth (Prince) Kingsley, originally from Newfoundland. The family moved to Prince Rupert in 1918 and Norman worked for P. Burns and Co. in the meat packing plant and later with Lindsay's Cartage. Norman was one of the original five people to start the radio station C.F.P.R. (later CBC) in the 1920s. He was very active with sports groups, especially motor boat racing and curling. He was also an active model railway enthusiast and donated his collection comprised of a 1,000 foot track, 100 cars, and 25 locomotives to North Pacific Cannery National Historic Site for a model railway display. Norman died in Prince Rupert on October 5, 1987.
