Biographical history
W.H. Lifton served in the Royal Navy in England during the mid-19th century and his son, G.H. Lifton, served with the Royal Navy Artillery Reserve, the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, and the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve. The Lifton family came to Canada in 1912.
