Biographical history
The Lytton Water Supply Co. Ltd. was officially incorporated on the 25th day of October, 1911. A meeting was held Nov. 6, 1911 to elect an executive and set out the rules, regulations and mandate of the company. The first executive consisted of J.H. Anthony, President, Stevenson, Secretary-Treasurer, and directors Hautier, Rebagliati, and Keeble. The number of directors was set a 5, with 3 being a quorum. An official seal was chosen, to read: Lytton Water Supply Company Limited, Lytton, B.C. Incorporated 1911. This was to be placed within a circle. (This seal is available for view in the Lytton Museum.) An auditor was chosen, Mr. Thomas Clarke of Lytton. Shares in the company were sold at ten dollars each, and the minute book includes the first list of shareholders. 107 shares were sold. As money became scarce more shares were issued. The main mandate seemed to be a new water line, which was contracted for immediately, and a better firefighting system. On reading through the minutes it was obvious that, even for something as important as a good supply of water, there was difficulty getting people to meetings.
