Dr. Gordon Mack M.D FRSC (C) was born in Toronto in 1923. He served as a peace time surgical consultant with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Germany in the 1950’s. He settled in Kitimat in 1961. In 1964 Dr. Mack was responsible for implementing the first school sex education program in B.C when he gave a series of lectures to high school students at the Mount Elizabeth Secondary School. The lecture program was cancelled in 1967. In 1968 he immigrated to Kathmandu, Nepal, to work as a missionary surgeon for the United Church. He stayed in Kathmandu until 1972. Dr. Mack passed away on October 9th 1998.
