Mr. Samuel Neil McLean Sr. (1880-1966) was born in Nova Scotia. The McLean family were in the logging and sawmill business and operated McLean Co. Ltd., McLean Sawmills Ltd. and Shelly Sawmill Ltd. from the 1920s to 1951 in the Fraser-Fort George regions.

Ltd.; Horseshoe Hill; Giscome Rapids; family members and sawmill operators depict this colourful history of sawmill life in the Northern Interior of British Columbia.
