    Biographical history

The Norfolk House School Society was formed in 1956 at the urging of Mr. Hugh Henderson, chairman of Norfolk House School Limited, because the latter was unable to raise capital necessary to construct the extra buildings required by the increased enrolment. He was chairman of the new society until 1970. The Chief Executive of the Society, who administered the day to day running of Norfolk House School, was always the Headmistress: Miss Winifred Scott 1957-78, Mrs. Christine Lurie (later Bullen) 1978-82, Mrs. June Beynon (Acting) 1982, Mrs. Margaret Wilmot 1982-86. The assets of the Society were acquired by the Glenlyon and Norfolk House School Society (later Glenlyon-Norfolk School Society) in 1986 when Norfolk House School and Glenlyon School amalgamated.
