Biographical history
The committee was established in December, 1970 to investigate the possibility of ensuring that the local population of skylarks on University property had adequate nesting sites to breed and live. Between 1962 and 1970, the population of skylarks had decreased from approximately 120 to 10, because of inadvertent destruction of nesting sites by construction and maintenance. The chair of the committee was Dr. Jeremy Tatum.
