        History

The Directress of St. Ann's Juniorate at St. Ann's Academy was a position created in the 1960s to formally direct the education of the nuns who had taken their first temporary vows, but who still required education to take final vows and to qualify for ministries. This was a function previously performed by the Mistress of Novices. The position was held first by Sister Mary Gladys until 1965, when Sister Denise Marie took over. The position was terminated in 1969 as sisters left to seek education in various other educational institutions.
