        History

        Founded in London in 1701, the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (S.P.G.) initiated missionary activity in British Columbia as early as 1859 in the newly created Diocese of British Columbia. Missionary support was also provided in other dioceses in the Ecclesiastical Province.
