Biographical history
The South Delta Community Parks Association was formed in 1964 to advocate for the acquisition and development of land for parks to meet the recreational needs of the community. The Association played an advisory role to the Delta Parks and Recreation Commission, and raised funds to purchase equipment and provide facilities for local parks such as South Delta Park, Centennial Beach, Grauer Park and Beach Grove. The first executive included Frank Peto, Chairman, Evelyn Fulton, Vice-Chairman, Betty Gingell, Secretary, and George Angus, Treasurer. The Association was dissolved in 1977.
