E.W. (Ernie) Taylor was born in Vancouver, B.C. He was stationed at the Boundary Bay Airfield in No. 5 O.T.U. in 1944-1945. He received an M.A. in Zoology from the University of British Columbia in 1950. He worked for the B.C. Fish and Game Department from 1950 to 1965 and for the Canadian Wildlife Service from 1965 to 1978.
