The University of Victoria Faculty Association was preceded by the Victoria College Faculty Association. The name changed in 1963 when Victoria College became the University of Victoria.

The Faculty met regularly with the Principal of the College to discuss academic matters, review committee reports, and develop recommendations to the Council. The secretaries include: John Marr, 1927-1929; Walter Gage, 1929-1933; George P. Black, 1933-1951; Rodney Poisson, 1951-1953; Phoebe Noble, 1953-1956; A.E. Loft, 1956-1959; K.M. Christie, 1959-1960; and Maureen C. Hibberson, 1960-1962.

The fonds consists of constitution, minutes, correspondence, lists of motions arising from the minutes; administrative files, including correspondence of the Faculty Association president and secretary, treasurer's reports and other financial records, briefs, committee reports, news releases of the University of Victoria's tenure crisis of 1971, and draft tenure documents and newsclippings
