Valentine's Day card sent by Helen to Lawrence in 1947.
Recto of greeting card depicts a coloured heart, flowers, and quill with textured gold inkpot. Greeting reads "From the Girl Who Loves You ; Valentine Greetings". Inner-left depicts three blue flowers, inner right is preprinted poem in black ink. Handwritten black ink inscription reads "Guess who sends you this?" Recto bears black pre-printed text: "25 VS 6261 COPYRIGHT ; RUST CRAFT TORONTO, CANADA".
Envelope bears round black ink stamp "VANCOUVER ; FEB 11 ; 6 PM ; 1947 ; B.C." Black ink wave stamp on recto and verso. Handwritten black ink address "Dr L Broe. ; c/o Royal Columbian hosp. ; New Westminster, ; BC".
Postage stamp is red, worth 4 cents, issued 1943, depicting King George IV in military regalia. Black ink wave stamp across recto aligns with that on envelope.

Physical condition
Some insect damage to recto and verso of greeting card. Envelope in poor condition with insect and moisture damage. Postage stamp in good condition and fully intact.

Arrangement
The postage stamp was donated housed in the same bag as the card and envelope. It was originally loose but the archivist has matched the stamp and ink marks to the void upon the envelope.
