Biographical history
The Centennial Committee Society of Vernon, B.C. first met in April, 1965, but was not registered as a society until February, 1966. Their object was to promote and encourage celebrations in connection with the centenary of the amalgamation of the crown colonies of Vancouver Island and the mainland of B.C. and the Confederation of the provinces of Canada. Their main projects were tree planting and the building of pools and fountains in the civic complex. The committee disbanded in 1968.

Fonds consists of the records and documents of the Vernon [1967] Centennial Committee from 1964-1968. Includes administrative papers, correspondence, minutes, briefs, reports and financial records detailing the committee's internal and external activities in regards to local celebrations.
