        History

        Victory Loan Committees were established throughout BC in 1918 for the purpose of raising funds to reduce the debt of World War I. City Council spearheaded the organization of a committee in Enderby and canvassers were appointed for every district in the City and surrounding area. The Committe raised $53,650 and received from the BC Executive the Governor General's Honour Flag with 2 Crowns. Special Canvassing Districts associated with Enderby were also organized; Mara raised $5,500 and Sicamous raised $13,500.
